The agreement

These terms cover your use of boldcoatpainters.com, operated by Bold Core LLC (dba Bold Coat Painters). Using the site means you accept them. The work itself is governed by the written contract you sign before we start, and where the two disagree, the contract wins.

What we do

Interior and exterior house painting, cabinet painting, deck and fence staining, commercial painting, drywall repair and preparation, and Painter for a Day, across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

Exterior work includes pressure washing as part of the preparation rather than as an extra line. We wash at low pressure and let the surface dry before anything is applied, because high pressure drives water behind siding and into wood and is how a repaint fails early.

Prices and estimates

The prices published on this site, and any range the estimator returns, are estimates for a standard scope. They are calculated from our own current rates and they are real numbers, not a hook. They are not a quote for your house, because nobody has seen your house.

A quote is the written scope and price we give you after a walkthrough, and that is the number that binds us. If it differs from what you saw online we will tell you which part of the scope moved and why, rather than handing you a new total.

Scheduling

We start on the day we agreed. Weather, access, and what we find once the surface is open can move an exterior date, and materials occasionally arrive late. When a date moves you hear it the day it moves, not the week after.

Payment

A deposit secures your start date and the balance is due on completion, after you have walked the job with us. The amounts and the schedule are in your contract. Late balances may carry a fee, which is also in the contract rather than a surprise.

Changes and cancellation

Ask for something different once we are on site and we will price it as a change order before we do it. Cancel before we have bought materials or started and it costs you nothing. Cancel after that and we may charge for what has already been bought or done. Your contract says which.

Warranty

We provide a 5-year written warranty on our workmanship, stated in your contract.

It covers our work: peeling, blistering, and failures of adhesion in what we applied. It does not cover normal wear, damage from something else, moisture or structural problems the house already had, or a surface someone else has since painted over.

Insurance and licensing

Bold Coat is fully insured and licensed to work in Illinois. Certificates of insurance naming your entity, a W-9, and lien waivers are available on request and go to your office before the first day on commercial work.

Using this site

Use it to learn what painting costs and to talk to us. Do not scrape it, break it, or use it to send us anything automated. We may change or withdraw any part of it without notice.

Our content

The text, photographs, logo and pricing content on this site belong to Bold Core LLC (dba Bold Coat Painters). The photographs are of our own jobs. Do not republish them as your own work.

Liability

The site is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it, including lost profit or a decision made on a published estimate rather than on a written quote. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Text messages

If you opt in, we text you about appointment times and when an estimator is on the way. Reply STOP to any message to cancel and we will confirm; sign up again to restart. Reply HELP, or email us, if something is wrong. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and the courts of Cook County, Illinois deal with any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The version on this page is the current one and the date at the top says when it changed. A material change gets at least thirty days of notice here before it takes effect.
