What the job involved
Project story.
This Lake Forest kitchen had sound boxes and tired doors. Replacement would have rebuilt a room that otherwise worked. Cabinet painting was the cleaner path once we confirmed counts, sheen, and whether hardware would be reused.
Doors and drawer fronts were removed, cleaned, and sanded thoroughly. Grease and old film do not hide under a thin spray coat, so prep carried the schedule. Visible box faces were finished in place with masking that protected counters, appliances, and floors. Hardware went back on square at the end.
Cabinet work is a craft lane, not a weekend roller job. The written scope named fronts, sheen, and cure time so the kitchen could return to normal use without surprises. Large Lake Forest kitchens often include an island and pantry run, and those counts were part of the estimate rather than left as a vague kitchen package.
